A well-travelled and seasoned hotelier, Gigi took up hospitality courses at Cornell University in New York and specialised in Catering and Convention Services at various deluxe hotels in Asia like The Conrad International Hong Kong, Shangri-La's China World Beijing and the Mandarin Oriental Manila.
After spending 16 productive years in the hospitality industry, Gigi took a shift in her career and trained in special events management with Protocol International in Chicago, USA. In 1996, she returned to Manila and together with husband and business partner, Manny Bautista, opened Manila's first full service special events company, GBA Events Asia.

Manny honed his skills and knowledge in advertising during his employment with multinational and local ad agencies McCann Erickson, Leo-Burnett, Ad Planners BJK & E and J Romero & Associates. In-between business schedules, he conducted major advertising and marketing classes at Saint Scholastica's College in Manila.
After generating 19 years of advertising experience, Manny left the corporate world in 1996, and in tandem with wife and business partner, Gigi Bautista, laid down the ground works for Manila's first full service special events company, GBA Events Asia.
